Cormier will be attempting to become just the next fighter in history to maintain 2 UFC belts simultaneously, joining Conor McGregor, who achieved the feat in 2016.
The two fighters have been coaching against one another with this season’s TUF Undefeated. Unlike a few seasons around TUF the coach have a mutual respect for each other and there hasn’t been any adjustments or anything like that up to now.
